Geo Sonic Drilling

We're all about good vibrations with the sample in the bag

The EP rigs use a conventional type coring method to retrieve the sample while running an outer casing to keep the hole open the casing can be advanced with or in front of the sampler dependent on the ground conditions the sample is captured in a plastic bag as it enters the sampler. The internal diameter of the casing is 95mm, which is ideal for monitoring bore installation. All the EP rigs can use the Macro Core style sampling method producing a 40mm core if required. This is larger than the macro core  sample of 32mm. The EP26 rig is capable of sampling through  consolidated  ground conditions as well as broken material like land fill.

The EP26 rigs

Benefits

Lower peak noise levels than typical top hole hammers.

Low speed rotation combined with high frequency vibration lets the operator determine the optimum drilling method.

Quieter than a rotary percussion drilling rig.

Faster sampling rates than a rotary rig.

Has the ability to retrieve highly representative, relatively undisturbed continuous core samples from both solid and unconsolidated materials.

No need for drilling fluid, allowing for uncontaminated core samples.

Dual tube method allows for simultaneous sampling and monitoring well completion.

Uses biodegradable hydraulic oil.
